There was one slice of bread when another came by

"Now we're two!" the slices cried

When you get two slices of bread

You know what lies ahead:

Sandwich! Sandwich!

You hold it right in your hand which

puts it in your mouth, bite by bite!

Something about it just feels right!

Time to make a plan which…
 involves a sandwich!

Well, Bread Slice One said to Bread Slice Two
"I feel so empty, how about you?"

But how they smiled, you should have seen 'em

When a slice of cheese walked right between 'em!

Two slice bread, one slice cheese

Thet say good things come in threes

But the slice of cheese began to sigh,
he said
"I think we're still a little dry..."

But way off in the distance they heard a voice…

Mayo! Mayo!
No make a sandwich be so dry!

So they walked up the road, hadn’t gone too far
when they met a big ol’ mayonnaise jar
Spread a little bit on each bread slice
“Ooh, that feels so nice!”

Now the classic sandwich we have seen
has two slice bread with stuff in between
But a club sandwich has three
and a Dagwood Sandwich (ask your grand dad)
has up to seventy!

There are so many sandwiches you can eat
so this list is incomplete
baloney, salami, banana, pastrami
grilled cheese, tuna fish, ask your mommy
she can make it here or take it from the deli
to thrill your mouth and fill your belly
and maybe if you’re really, really good…
Peanut butter and jelly!
